A huge shout-out to Mark and Paul

+

A huge shout-out to Mark and Paul – better known as Mouse and Nunny – for supporting a VINCI Defence SOMAD (Stand Out and Make a Difference) volunteering project in High Wycombe this week.

Antac’s contribution included replacing rotten fencing, installing a small canopy over the washroom door, and removing all waste. A fantastic team effort that will make a real and lasting difference to the local community and the charities that use Hills Café.

This morning we received some wonderful feedback from Xenia Murray at Hills Café:

“On behalf of the Board, staff, volunteers and customers of Hills Café, thank you so much for all the work, time and resources you gave to improve the garden and make it safe for users. As you’ll see from the ‘before’ photos, the transformation is incredible. The Board met in the café last night, and I was proud to show them the results.”

Hills Café is a much-loved community hub in Micklefield, one of the most deprived areas in the country. A community interest company, it will celebrate its 10th anniversary next year and relies on donations and voluntary support to continue its work. The café provides a safe, welcoming space serving affordable food and coffee, while its garden offers vital outdoor space for children and adults who may not otherwise have access to one.

The café is also part of the One Can Trust family, hosting a range of support activities including homework clubs, a weekly community café, and school holiday events offering food and activities for families in need.

A big thank-you to Danielle Ruan, based at RAF High Wycombe with VINCI Defence, for organising the SOMAD project. We’re proud to have supported such an important local resource.
