Antac were invited by Vinci Facilities to support a community project at Farnham Sea Cadets. Antac are Tier 1 delivery partners with Vinci Facilities to provide planned maintenance and responsive repairs for Ministry of Defence properties at multiple locations in the South East as part of the Future Defence Infrastructure Services (FDIS) contract.
The building was constructed in 1970, with the rising costs of maintenance, it was important to find a way of renovating and modernising the building to increase its utility and attract more rental income. The management committee had already started to encourage other organisations to use the facilities, which included Surrey Police dog training, Rushmore Rotary, Farnham Round Table and children’s summer camps.
Antac completed the following tasks:
• Painting external windows
• Repainting Deck floor
• Full refurbishment of the Boardroom and annex meeting room
• Painting of some classrooms
• New kitchen ceiling
• Refurbishment of the washrooms
• Small kitchen facilities in the Cadets mess
Antac provided a dedicated Project Manager, Ross Harmer to oversee the works and co-ordinate all the suppliers, subcontractors and Antac’s team on-site over a three-week period. The work that has been completed, has made a huge difference to the building, enhancing the facilities to enable the building to now be used by a wider range of community groups. Hopefully, this will increase the revenue for the building securing its long-term future and enabling further improvements to be made.
To complete the significant works that were needed Antac reached out to its supply chain to support this project. Working in partnership with these companies enabled Antac to add ‘extras’ to this project, that would not have otherwise happened. Below is a list of all the contributions gratefully received.
We would like to thank all those who have been so generous on the community project.
