This month marks the beginning of an exciting sustainability project for our M&E Division, on the construction of the British Army’s first solar-powered carport at Army Headquarters, Andover.
Project Taurus Overview
- To install a solar carport within a new car park area at Army HQ Andover.
- The carport will support PV panels above 20 carparking spaces which will generate electricity to support 10 duel EV charging points.
- The carpark will have 43 car park bays with the installation of LED lighting to illuminate the car park area.
On Wednesday 4th August 2021, the Antac team took part in Project Taurus’ ‘Ceremonial Dig’ with Major General David Southall, Director Basing and Infrastructure and the Army’s Sustainability Champion to mark the launch of the project.
